May 22,  · A Mouthful: Marisol’s “Love” I first ran across this image of “Love” in a book meant to accompany an exhibition of MoMA’s collection of Latin American and Caribbean Art at El Museo del Barrio I was hesitant to write about this sculpture because of the sexual connotations, but the power play I saw as I looked at the image. Marisol Escobar (May 22, – April 30, ), otherwise known simply as Marisol, was a French-born sculptor of Venezuelan heritage. She worked in New York City.
